How to Qualify for Lifeline

In order to qualify for a Lifeline phone you must look at the prerequisites that determine your eligibility. The Lifeline phone is a government benefit program that is capable of helping the 32 million households in the United States that qualify for this program.

If you are in need of a Lifeline phone first you must address any government programs your household participates in that could potentially gain you eligibility in this program.

Government Programs 

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Medicaid
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
  • Tribally Administered TANF
  • Tribally Administered Head Start (Meeting the income-qualifying standards of Head Start)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Veterans Pension or Survivors Benefit
  • Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)
  • Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance

If you do not partake in any of the Government Programs listed above you may be able to qualify for Lifeline by your household income.

For families of 9+ you must add $5,643 to each member.
